Ensure Project

Ensure Project has been working from March,2021 in the area of  Barind region of northern Bangladesh. The target group is selected from the families who live in extreme poverty, indigenous communities or religious minorities in remote and hard-to-reach rural area.14,100 children from marginalised communities receive an inclusive, equitable and high-quality education at 40 formal and 30 non-formal schools in the Naogaon district. Pedagogues, civil society actors and educational authorities work effectively together at local and regional level to realize the right of all children to education and to disseminate their experiences.

Objective:
Ensuring inclusive, equitable and non-discriminatory quality primary education in the education sector of Bangladesh.

Major Activities :

  1. Basic training of education. 2. Orientation on different types of issues. 3. Workshop with assistant teachers, head teachers and AUEO, UEO. 4. Activities with UP’s members and chairman and dialogue session. 5. UP, Sub-district and district level education development committee (EDC) formation, orientation and meeting. 6. Different types of capacity development training. 7. Education materials, Musical instruments and science materials supply to GPS and NFPE schools.

Target Group

The target group is selected from the families who live in extreme poverty, indigenous communities or religious minorities in remote and hard-to-reach rural area.

Direct target group: 14,100 pre-primary and primary age children; 190 teachers and 590 members of school committees at 40 formal and 30 non-formal (NFPE) primary schools; 600 members of Education Development Committees; 120 members of Education Forums at union level; 34 full-time NGO staff (programmatic staff).

Indirect target group: In the 2 sub-districts: Min. 49,000 students and 857 teachers in another 217 formal schools. In the Naogaon districts: At least 5 percent of 322,500 members of religious minorities and indigenous groups;

Objective of the Project:

14,100 children from marginalised communities receive an inclusive, equitable and high-quality education at 40 formal and 30 non-formal schools in the Naogaon district. Pedagogues, civil society actors and educational authorities work effectively together at local and regional level to realize the right of all children to education and to disseminate their experiences.

We have two results under this project:

Result 1: 40 existing formal primary schools with integrated pre-schools and 30 newly established non-formal (NFPE) primary schools provide high-quality pre-school and primary education for children from marginalized communities. The children are prepared and supported to continue their education in secondary schools

Result 2: Teachers are strengthened in the application of child-centered pedagogical concepts to deliver quality pre-primary and primary education. School boards and partner NGOs are strengthened to support school staff and to expand civil society’s scope for action from local to national level to promote inclusive, equitable and quality education for children from marginalized communities.
